About Cegin Mr Henry
I’m Lloyd Henry and I’m a food teacher in South Wales and have been teaching food at all Key stage levels for over 14 years now, having come in to teaching with a degree in International Hospitality Management and then experiencing years of employment in the food industry working different roles at a variety of hospitality and catering establishments across the world.
I have been member of the BNF (British Nutrition Foundation) Welsh working committee/council for over 7 years, and have worked with Hybu Cig Cymru on a variety of projects over the previous 3 years, from having an input into a resource distributed to all secondary schools in Wales with regards to Food Education, as well as being invited to do a live cooking demonstration and Q&A at last year’s Royal Welsh Show.
I have published a Welsh medium book with over 30 recipes called ‘Cegin Mr Henry’.
In 2021 I won the title of BNF Welsh Food Teacher of the year.
I’m a very proud of my heritage and my 'Welshness' and love for my country and culture and try to incorporate this into everything that I do. I feel very lucky and privileged to be in the position where I can share my enthusiasm to the next generation of food lovers.
